Sati' al-Husri

Sati' al-Husri was a Syrian educator, writer, and political thinker who became one of the most influential advocates of secular Arab nationalism. After serving in the Ottoman educational bureaucracy, he held major education posts in Syria and Iraq and used schools, curricula, and teacher training to promote shared Arab language and history. His central intellectual shift was from Ottomanism to Arabism, defining Arab unity through cultural and linguistic bonds rather than religion.
