Shireen Abu Akleh

Shireen Abu Akleh was a Palestinian-American journalist who became one of Al Jazeera’s best-known field correspondents. She joined the network in 1997 and spent roughly 25 years reporting from the Palestinian territories, covering the second Intifada, wars in Gaza, and major Israeli incursions. Her calm, detailed reporting made her a prominent figure in Arab journalism until her death while covering an Israeli raid in Jenin on May 11, 2022.
