Sinéad O'Connor

Sinéad O’Connor was an Irish singer-songwriter whose intense, expressive voice and uncompromising songwriting made her one of the most distinctive artists of the late 20th century. Her debut album, *The Lion and the Cobra* (1987), established her as an important new voice, while her recording of Prince’s “Nothing Compares 2 U” brought global fame in 1990. Across ten studio albums, she moved between rock, reggae, folk, and spiritual music, while her outspoken activism remained central to her public work.
