Stephen A. Jarislowsky

Stephen A. Jarislowsky was a Canadian investment manager who founded Jarislowsky Fraser Limited in Montreal in 1955 and helped build it into a major Canadian investment firm. Born in Berlin, he studied mechanical engineering at Cornell University, earned a master’s degree at the University of Chicago, and completed an MBA at Harvard Business School. He was also a prominent philanthropist and supporter of education, medicine, governance, and the arts, including through institutions bearing his name. Jarislowsky died in October 2026 at the age of 101.
