Ted Hughes

Ted Hughes was an English poet whose vivid, often elemental writing drew heavily on animals, landscape, mythology, and the natural world. His major works include *The Hawk in the Rain*, *Lupercal*, *Crow*, and *Birthday Letters*, alongside the much-loved children’s book *The Iron Man*. Hughes served as Britain’s Poet Laureate from 1984 until his death in 1998 and also worked as a translator and editor.
