Vladimir Tatlin

Vladimir Tatlin was a Russian avant-garde painter, graphic artist, theatrical designer, and creator of architectural and engineering projects who helped pioneer Constructivism. His best-known design, the Monument to the Third International (1919–1920), envisioned a monumental structure organized around a tilted axis and rotating forms. Tatlin also developed the Letatlin, an experimental human-powered flying machine, while working across stage design, teaching, and visual art.
