Wee Cho Yaw

Wee Cho Yaw was a Singaporean banker and businessman who transformed United Overseas Bank from a one-branch institution into a major regional bank. He joined the board of United Chinese Bank in 1958, became managing director in 1960, and later led UOB as chairman and chief executive. Beyond banking, he supported education and community development, including through the Wee Foundation and scholarship initiatives.
