About Wilhelm Wundt

Wilhelm Wundt was a German physician, physiologist, philosopher, and professor whose work helped establish psychology as an independent experimental discipline. After teaching at the University of Zurich, he joined the University of Leipzig in 1875 and founded the world’s first Institute of Experimental Psychology there in 1879. His research connected physiological measurement with the study of perception and conscious experience, while his later work also examined language, culture, and collective mental life.
