Xiong Shili

Xiong Shili (1885–1968) was a Chinese philosopher and a founding figure of modern New Confucianism. Drawing especially on Yogācāra Buddhism and the Yijing, he developed a metaphysical vision centered on the nonduality of reality and its functions. His major work, *A New Treatise on Consciousness-Only*, reinterpreted Buddhist ideas in an effort to reconstruct Confucian philosophy for the modern era.
