Yaqub Sanu

Yaqub Sanu, also known as James Sanua and Abu Naddara, was a pioneering Egyptian dramatist who helped establish modern Egyptian theatre. He later founded a satirical newspaper that used political commentary to promote national and political awareness among Egyptians. Writing in accessible language and combining journalism with caricature, Sanu made theatre and satire instruments of public debate.
