Nicolas Trigault

Nicolas Trigault was a Jesuit missionary whose work helped introduce China’s history, culture, and Christian mission to early modern European readers. He translated and expanded Matteo Ricci’s memoirs into the influential Latin work *De Christiana expeditione apud Sinas*, published in 1615. Trigault also served as a European advocate for the China mission and contributed to the development of Chinese-language and Romanization resources.
